Code of Conduct
Whether it' your first time playing in the league or you've been here for years, our priority is your fun experience and safety! We are a family friendly league and all spectators and participants must feel comfortable, we want to make sure everyone reflects Comeback Sport's code of conduct on the field or court. We expect all players in our leagues to represent yourself, your team and the league with good sportsmanship.
ALL RULES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. The TERM "INDIVIDUAL" INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: CAPTAIN, PLAYER OR SPECTATOR. A TEAM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ITS INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS. MISCONDUCT MAY RESULTS IN PENALIZING AN INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM FROM ALL COMEBACK SPORTS ADULT RECREATIONAL LEAGUES, TOURNAMENT AND EVENTS. THE TERM OFFICIAL: INDCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: UMPIRE/REFEREE, LEAGUE DIRECTOR OR STAFF. THE TEAM CAPTAIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL OF THEIR PLAYERS HAVE SIGNED THE TEAM WAIVER PRIOR TO PARTICIPATING IN ANY GAMES.
No Individual Shall:
1. At any time lay a hand upon, shove, strike or verbally threaten an official or individual.
Minimum Penalty: Removed from league play for (1) calendar year and placed on (2) yearsâ?? probation.
Maximum Penalty: Banned from Comeback Sports Adults Recreational Sports leagues, tournaments or events and assault charges filed.
2. Be guilty of an abusive verbal attack upon any official or individual on or off the court/field of play.
Minimum Penalty: Ejected from the game and must leave the facility immediately, (1) week suspension, and probation for the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension for one full year and placed on probation for (6) months after reinstatement.
3. Use profane, obscene or vulgar language in any manner at any time on or off the playing field/court. No cursing, period. We ask that you treat your fellow players, opponents, referees/umpires with respect.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official, umpire or referee.
Maximum Penalty: Ejection from game and must leave the facility immediately, (1) week suspension following ejection, and probation for the season.
4. No drinking at the field/court and/or showing up intoxicated. We have sponsor bars for postgame enjoyment, but to avoid safety and behavioral issues, we ask you save it for later.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official or umpire/referee. Individual asked to leave facility, (1) week suspension following.
Maximum Penalty: Team forfeits game and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
5. Throw equipment. Whether it's a bat, ball or some other object related to the games, this is poor sportsmanship and dangerous.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official, umpire or referee.
Maximum Penalty: Ejection from the game and must leave the facility immediately, and (1) week suspension following ejection.
6. Be guilty of unnecessary rough tactics in the play of the game.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official. Depending on severity, ejected from the game and must leave the facility immediately, and (1) week suspension.
Maximum Penalty: Banned from the Comeback Sports leagues and assault charges filed.
7. Excessive Arguing with officials, umpires or referees. Be respectful of calls made and keep your questions about a call respectful. The officials are there to help you have a fun game.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official, umpire or referee. Depending on severity, ejected from the game and must leave the facility immediately, (1) week suspension following.
Maximum Penalty: (2) week suspension or remainder of the season suspension.
8. Impede the flow of the game. You cannot take away time from the game and enjoyment of the game for other players/teams.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official, umpire or referee. May be asked to leave the game and if ejected, must leave the facility immediately. (1) week suspension.
Maximum Penalty: (2) week suspension or remainder of the season, depending on severity.
9. Demonstrate unsportsmanlike conduct and/or negative attitude.
Minimum Penalty: Warning by league official, umpire or referee.
Maximum Penalty: Banned from Comeback Sports leagues.
NOTE: Players or captains who are on probation when another incident occurs can have their penalty increased to the maximum. If a player or captain is suspended from play and is found on another team, the penalty can be extended beyond the original time limit. The severity of the infraction will determine the penalty. Penalties can fall between the minimum and maximum. Comeback Sports Adult Recreational Leagues staff will determine the penalty.
ANOTHER NOTE: Team captains are considered the point of contact for their team. If a player is ejected or suspended, we will contact the team captain, who will be responsible for informing the team member. Ejected players are not to contact the office. Team captains are expected to calm players down, make sure ejected players leave immediately and act as the role model for the team in all sportsmanship instances.
